-- Sensing that she had been
personally attacked, Shii Ann confronts Colby about his opinions on
strategy and ends up being lectured on how to play the game.
-- One castaway, having hidden their skills up to this point, suddenly
rises to dominance as the primary provider for the tribe.
-- Tension builds for one castaway and culminates in an explosive
reaction.
REWARD CHALLENGE: Sue yells, but doesn't quit (yet); Chapera wins?
The problem with the reward challenge is that two
distinct events could be happening.
One, Susan yells and screams at Probst after
she was "humiliated" at last week's immunity
challenge (which is one day earlier in Survivor
time. The tribemates react sorrowfully.
Two, the tribes have a regular challenge to compete
for reward. Very competitive. Tom is dancing, Ethan
is smiling.
The two divergent images don't jive with us.
Something's not right.
1) Could the challenge be held several hours after
Sue's outburst or the next day?
2) Sue's outburst is loud, but she doesn't quit.
3) Susan quits before the challenge.
We think the answer is No. 2.
Susan won't quit before the challenge. We
don't see her in any challenge shots other than
screaming at Probst. She's probably just sitting out.
If she DID quit, we have a feeling they would
postpone the challenge. But the clothing, buff
position of the Sue anger vidcaps and the challenge
vidcaps are identical. So we're pretty sure Sue's
outburst is minutes before the challenge. And it
would be very "weird," to say the least, that a
player would quit and then a few minutes later the
tribes are laughing and dancing at a challenge.
(Left): Chapera arrives for the challenge, not
looking happy. Rob slams the post into the sand. Sue
is seen sullen in the far back left. (Right): Rupert
doesn't look happy. He doesn't look sad either.
What's going on?
More vidcaps of distraught people. Did Sue just
quit? Or did she just blow up and cry?
(Left): Tom is not happy while Sue yells? (Right):
Tom and tribe (minus Sue and Alicia) are dancing and
having a great ol' time minutes later. Advantage
Chapera?
(Left): Colby and Lex not excited about how the
challenge is going. Missed opportunity equals
Chapera win?
(Right): That's Amber and Tom (minus necklace) from
Jenna's episode 3 (Thanks to Trixie on MESS for
figuring it out). Mark Burnett's not trying to trick
us though. He's telling us someone quits again!
(Left): Ethan from Survivor Africa stomping on his
way to winning the RC
in Survivor 3: Africa.
(Right): Kathy stomping.
S3 Challenge Name: Stomp-pede
Description: The Survivors are given a wooden plank
with notches below its center. A bucket has been
placed eight feet in the air. Beneath the bucket is
a fulcrum over which the board must be placed. One
at a time, a series of items are placed on one end
of the plank. The Survivors must stomp on the other
end, catapulting the item into the bucket. First
person to successfully toss all his or her items
into the bucket wins.
Winner Tribe Gets: Two goats to take to an African
village and barter for items of the winner's
choosing
Winner: Ethan
Last time it was for individual reward. This time
it's for tribal reward. What's the reward? We don't
know, but we're sure it has something to do with
Doritos, Visa and Sierra Mist, Home Depot and Herbal
Essences.
(Left): Queque on EZ points out that Mogo Mogo
seems to be ahead in this pic. Notice Rob takes
a red bag from the basket on the left (still full).
A similar basket on the upper right looks like it's
empty. Is that Mogo Mogo's? Could be.
(Right): Shii Ann is talking to Colby with a piece
of orange or lime in her hand. Could this be the
reward? Eh, we think not. There are already limes on
the island and we've seen caps of her eating fruit
in previous episodes. Plus, we don't think the
Florida Citrus industry is sponsoring Survivor. Then
again, Uncle Ben's didn't provide the rice. We
agree with oranges about some things, but not as
rewards for challenges.
So, based on the Chapera dancing pics, we'll go
with a Chapera win, barely.
IMMUNITY CHALLENGE: Mogo Mogo wins.
There were questions about whether
Susan might quit before the immunity challenge, just
like Jenna M. There are some pics of Susan back at
Chapera camp, but we don't know when they are from.
One poster, Ratsnsnakes, thought that Probst would
let the tribes cool down for a day before Susan
makes her decision. Sounds reasonable to us. She
might also quit at tribal council a la Osten. That
might work with
Snewser's calendar, which has a castaway leaving
on Day 2 of the episode (NOT day 3).
Elwood, a poster on Blows, talks about a radio promo
that says that there is "A tribal council that will be
talked about by America for weeks."
We've confirmed the radio report.
That means there is probably an immunity challenge
and Mogo Mogo wins. The only other option
would be a "symbolic tribal council" for a quitting
Sue. We don't think Sue would go along with that.
Random pictures of Susan probably are BEFORE RC. Why
do we guess that? No necklace (below).
This pic (above) looks like Susan is cooling off
after her angry outburst at the reward challenge.
BOOT: Sue quits at
tribal council?
These are word-for-word accounts from former
Survivor
Jeff Varner:
Jeff Varner (Jan. 20): And in a turn that no one expected,
(Rich) will be the center of a controversy that
you'll never believe. He causes big trouble
in this game, and not just for himself. When it airs, make sure you have a great
view of the screen. Scoot over "just a Hatch," if necessary! It's big--and I'm
not talking about the "cocktail mushroom sitting on top of a bush," if you know
what I mean!
Jeff Varner (Jan. 28): Inside sources tell me that Jenna Morasca leaves the game fairly early due to
her mother's death. However these same sources
NOW tell me that Jenna is not the only one. There is a second contestant that
reaches the boiling point, throws up their hands and angrily leaves the game.
The situation that produces this exit will get strong emotional reactions from
everyone watching. I'm told it changes the game, therefore something that can't
hit the cutting room floor. They have to show it. I'm slobbering waiting for
this episode! You should be too. You'll never believe who leaves and what causes
them to leave. NEVER! I could tell you, but I'd never spoil it for you!
Jeff Varner (Feb. 25): At the coming
Immunity Challenge, a nude male contestant
physically contacts a female contestant,
launching an alleged situation where she decides to
quit, threatening legal action in a future episode.
The alleged situation is said to be so
controversial that given Justin and Janet, CBS is
walking on eggshells editing this one.
It's obvious that the man Varner is talking about is
Richard, and it's obvious that the woman is Susan.
Varner thinks Susan quits in this episode. It is
apparent from the preview that she is "Outraged."
We think Susan is the next to go as well. We
thought she went in Episode 5 until Varner came out
with his report on Wednesday.
Right now, it looks like a closed book on this week.
But we do have several days of spoiling to go.
A few more reasons why Susan's quitting or dismissal
is imminent:
1) CBS is playing up Susan and her argument in
previews. The disclaimer has returned for this week,
too. It sounds like the discussion is going to get
sexual/naked related. And we all know how touchy CBS
is after Janetgate.
2) CBS's own wording in its article about Rich's
appearance on the Early Show: "But on Thursday’s
episode, Hatch’s nudity forced CBS to provide a
disclaimer. His nakedness became uncomfortably close
to Sue Hawk during the immunity challenge (This is
the first disclaimer since Mike Skupin fell into a
fire during the second season)." NOTE: Skupin, Jenna
M and Osten all left the game due to injury or their
own will. Jenna M wasn't played up because it wasn't
controversial. Osten's quitting was overwhelmed by
the Outcast twist. Skupin's injury was played up
HUGE in previews. Susan's incident is as well. It's
the main focus of this episode and that doesn't
happen often on Survivor. The CBS paragraph ends
with "Nevertheless, the incident may have some sort
of repercussions in future segments."
3)
Richard's chat mysteriously does not mention the
subject. What is CBS hiding? Hmmn, we wonder ....
This site is an ode to the excellent work of TrueDorkTimes, who
provided wonderful spoiling for five seasons.
