REWARD CHALLENGE: SOS signal, Chapera wins?
According to a CBS press release, the reward challenge looks like it's a <SARCASM>fan favorite</SARCASM>.

It seems it will be the exciting "airplane-signal" challenge, which was a reward challenge in Survivor 1: Palau Tiga, and an immunity challenge in a few other Survivors.

The challenge is simple: the tribes have to make the best SOS signal that can be viewed via plane.

The CBS press release states that "A crate of much-need supplies is delivered via parachute to the winner of the reward challenge."

Chapera looks awfully happy on their beach. Unless Big Tom reads Cat in the Hat to a bunch of dolphins, we think they're happy over winning the reward. Also, who knew that the secret romance was between Alicia and Amber? Could they be celebrating their new love next to logs in the background (right) that are part of the SOS signal?

Meanwhile, Mogo Mogo's Lex is saying to himself, "Huh, how come they're not dropping the goods?" And Saboga's Jerri might be putting together an SOS signal (right), or she likes big logs in the fire.

So for now, we'll say Chapera wins.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE: Is there one?
We have no idea if there is an immunity challenge. Here's our best guess:

1) Jenna M, more than likely, will quit the game in this episode. Jenna's mother died on November 19, and Jenna was reportedly seen as early as Nov. 13. According to the SNews Calendar and ABT calendar, that puts her leaving the game sometime in Episode 3 or 4. The web promo on the CBS website hints at a "heart-wrenching" decision:

Voiceover: ...plus a heart-wrenching decision.
Kathy: Her mom is in cancer rehab, she should not be here.
Colby: Losing anyone could be a detriment.

2)  Host Jeff Probst said on a radio show that it's highly unlikely that they would have two tribal councils in one episode. They rarely waste two climaxes in one show. That wouldn't be smart to boot two people in one show. He also gives more credence to Jenna leaving by saying, "Episode 3 will make you cry."

3) Mistofleas on SurvivorBlows points out that Sabgoa's shelter has moved to the beach. This may have something to do with Rupert and Jerri's fight.

On the left, is Saboga Episode 1. On the right is the Episode 3 promo.

4) The mysterious postings by Sleek28 says there will be a "symbolic" tribal council for Jenna M. This actually makes sense. In Survivor 2: Australian Outback, the Kucha tribe had a symbolic tribal council for injured castaway Mike Skupin, although it was never showed. There was no immunity challenge, either.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

IF there is an immunity challenge, it might take place in a second part of the episode show next week (a la the Outcast tribe episodes 7a and 7b of Pearl Islands)

Complicated math:

-- For reference, Rudy's boot came on Day 6.
-- Episode 3 is to take place on Days 7-9.
-- We know the show lasts 39 days based on the opening credits.

So, CBS might show Day 7-9 in two weekly episodes. The first will cover Jenna M's exit from the game. The second part will go through the normal process of challenges and booting a player.

As for the "unexpected twist" in the CBS promos possibly hinting at a merge/swap, it might be too early.

BOOT: Jenna leaves.
At least this week in TV time, it seems unlikely that there will be a second person gone besides Jenna M.

MB doesn't want to spoil the drama, and it appears there is plenty of other happenings in the episode to fill up an hour. A Rob M.-Amber love affair, Rich vs. the shark and Jerri vs. Rupert can fill up time, too.

There is a slight possibility that Jenna leaves so early that they can fit in an immunity challenge and tribal council to boot another person. But, if that does happen, we don't think it will be shown this week.

Farewell, Jenna M. All of us wish your family well.
